New Omicron Variant detected in Delhi, the capital of the country. Yesterday, on 5 December, our Health Minister Satyendra Jain reported about the man who came from Tanzania to Delhi a few days ago and tested COVID-19 positive with Omicron variant.
Well, overall India has detected a total of five Omicron cases including Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka( two cases) and now one in Delhi.
The Omicron Variant is the new variant of COVID-19 first found in South Africa. Talking about the symptoms of this new variant, WHO said that there are no usual symptoms found in the new variant.
According to Angelique Coetzee the chair of South African Medical association, the patients who were detected COVID positive with the new variant had symptoms like fatigue, aches and pains but no smell loss or coughing.
According to WHO (World Health Organization), the very first Omicron variant was found in South Africa. As per the statement by Foreign Ministry, countries from all over the world are restricted to travel from Southern Africa as details of the spread emerged. It has a higher risk of re-infection.
The man returned to New Delhi from Tanzania and got COVID positive with the Omicron variant. He is now admitted to LNJP hospital in New Delhi. On the other hand, a 33 year old man returned to India from Cape Town, South Africa found COVID positive too . In Gujrat, An 72 years old NRI who returned from Zimbabwe found COVID positive. The rest COVID positive case was found in Bengaluru .Right now there are five COVID– 19 cases with the Omicrons Variant . Around 12 COVID-19 cases have been admitted to Delhi's LNJP hospital.
Along with South Africa, several countries have detected the cases of this new variant 'Omicron' - two cases in the United Kingdom, two in Germany, one in Italy, one in Belgium and now Five in cases have been detected in India.
As per the statement by Foreign Ministry, countries from all over the world are restricted to travel from Southern Africa as details of the spread emerged. the variant. The variant has also been detected in the countries like Botswana and Hong Kong. Israel has also confirmed about this new variant found.
As per the guidelines, we all should take each and every precaution to prevent yourself from this new variant. Though the effect of vaccination on this variant is not much effective therefore it is very important for all of us to wear fitted masks, wash hands frequently and avoid crowded places. Only go outside if it is necessary otherwise it will be better to stay at home.
